  • Mission Statement

Since 1905 the ICN has been the 'Grande Ecole' Business School in the east of France and at the heart of Europe. Its identity and its development are rooted in the links between Management, Technology and Art. These links will be vital determinants for tomorrow's economic environment.

The mission of the ICN Business School is to train students and executives to manage enterprises efficiently, with a commitment to corporate responsibility, and to contribute to innovation through creativity.

Its teaching programs are supported by the specialist knowledge of its academic Faculty who make original intellectual contributions to improving managerial practice and furthering the knowledge which is essential to corporate success.

The ICN community is driven by three fundamental values, which find their true expression in the objectives of the ARTEM alliance: openmindedness, commitment and team spirit.

  • Values

• OPENMINDEDNESS

The ICN Business School is characterized in all its activities by its openness to other cultures and other disciplines.

The ICN is open to international opportunities and influences via its student and Faculty exchanges, and the opportunities arising from its network of international partner universities, one of the most dynamic in French Business Schools.

The ICN is receptive to other academic disciplines through its links with the University of Lorraine and other Schools, particularly in the ARTEM alliance with the National School of Art (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Art) and the National School of Engineering (Ecole des Mines de Nancy).

The ICN is therefore a sharing of knowledge and competences. The ICN community is a mosaic of talents.

• COMMITMENT

The ICN Business School's commitment to students is that each one should make the transition from 'wanting to' to 'being able to', thus turning ambition into reality. The School achieves this by deploying a complete range of teaching tools and tutoring strategies to accompany students throughout their learning experience. Personal development is at the heart of ICN philosophy, so that students' true potential and their full aspirations may come to fruition and their total personality flourish.

The ICN, in stressing the importance of creativity, is also committed to improving managerial practice and promoting innovation in businesses.

The ICN reaffirms its commitment to the region in which it finds itself, and seeks to play a major role in contributing to its socio-economic development and hence its attractiveness.

• TEAM SPIRIT

The ICN is above all a community; a community committed to sharing, working in networks and learning to manage projects in groups.  This is the case in classes and lectures, in practical workshops, and in the students' own associations. Community also means cohesiveness in the relationships between individuals, whether they belong to the student body or the staff of the School. This team spirit is particularly valued during the student and staff seminars which are organized each year.

The ICN Business School seeks to create synergy between groups and hence give a collective dimension to skills development.
